Why Cheat India, Box-Office, Day 1: Has Emraan Hashmi's Film Cheated The Audience?
It has, it has, so it seems as evident from the reviews and collections both. After a spate of bad reviews, Why Cheat India managed to garner only Rs 1.7 crore. Definitely a dismal figure, and with the word of mouth being not strong, a miracle is required to save this one from perishing soon.

What has evidently gone wrong is the content. The intent was good but the execution far from it. Director Soumik Sen has brought out a very disjointed film, which also had its share of grey areas. Sen will find it very difficult to get a producer back him after this. Emraan Hashmi has done a good job but isn't wow, so all the more reason why the film does not touch upon the right strings. Add this to its insipid music. Newbie Shreya is praiseworthy but is not a star kid who can bring the public in. Raasta mushkil hai aur manzil asambhav.

A Still From Why Cheat India

T-series and Ellipsis should start working on their next (if they collaborating again) and consider WCI as a bad dream. Shreya can rest content with the honest assurances coming her way. Emraan needs to think hard how he can make a grand comeback. And, Sen should go on a sabbatical ASAP.
